This kit is used for cam timing while servicing the engine. OEM No. ref.: 303-564, 303-573, 303-576, 303-577, 303-578, 303-571, 303-565, 303-575. Compatible for Ford Explorer, Mercury Mountaineer with 4.0 L SOHC V6 Engine (1997 – 2002)
- Services the timing system on 4.0 L SOHC V6 Engine.
- Required for replacing the timing chain when the poorlydesigned original Teflon chain guides fail.
- Signs of failure are heard as a louder engine noteduring a cold start and between 2400 – 3000 RPM.
